Helix Advanced Techniques on DVD — Chuck’s complete advanced techniques course on three DVDs plus a CD-ROM of examples and techniques. Created by CLH Ware, sold exclusively by QSA ToolWorks.

Data PixelDataPixel Online Training — Online classes for beginner and intermediate designers. Created by Kevin Williams.

Helix FTP site — Browse the Helix ftp site for samples, downloads, and documents that may help you with Helix. Samples provided by QSA ToolWorks staff and many Helix users.

Discussing Helix

CallHelix CallHelix 2 — by Autograph Systems, AppleScript and Python access to data stored within a Helix database. Written by Ryan Wilcox. Original Concept by Fred Stephenson.

qilanQilan — Qilan ("Kee-lan"), by Common Ground Softworks, enables a Helix application to communicate via the web using OS X servers. Helix retrieval/storage can be incorporated into JSP pages, so developers can utilize JSP technology along with Helix connectivity. Qilan demo page.

Osmosis Osmosis — Osmosis, by Common Ground Softworks, connects a Classic Helix application to the web.

Free Products

AppleEvents — Downloadable API that shows how to write AppleEvent code to communicate with Helix. Includes samples from the PowerMover code.

Java — Downloadable API for communicating with Helix via Java. Written by Tim Hingeley and donated to the Helix community as freeware.

Frontier — Downloadable API for communicating with Helix via UserLand Frontier. Written by Steve Keller and updated by Ryan Wilcox.

Evalix Evalix — Evalix, by DataPixel Software, examines Collections and gives analyses of their structural content.

Helix Maintenance Manager — The successor to DataBright Management Systems' Database Chequer, is used to make backups and run the Helix Utilities automatically without an attendant. (This is a QSA ToolWorks product.)

Free Products

Rezilla — An OS X native resource editor. Editing resources is one way to tweak programs, including Helix.

ResEdit — The Classic resource editor from Apple.
