Maybe I'm missing something incredibly basic here, but could someome point out how to force the Repeat Rectangle to stop after repeating itself X times?

I am trying to make a sheet of 6 lables for our mailing lists so that they don't have to shuffle the sticky lables on the sheet after every printing. If anyone could point out where to look or perhaps an Abacus that could help I would be greatful

I would follow the instructions at helixnewbies.editthispage.com/stories/storyReader$65, and then put a query on the "line number by name" abacus < N.

I created a sample collection, see wilcoxd.com/OSS/helix/only2records.hlx52.sit (it's a 5.2 collection)

That should work. Feel free to ask questions on this at the helixnewbies.editthispage.com/discuss (HelixNewbies Discussion Board).

Bur, Ryan,

that technique has problems if your sort order is based on an item that may have insertions (like a Date field). That means that your sequential numbers may not give you the subset that you want. A while back, I made the feature request to add an attribute to the repeat rectangle dialog box that would specify the maximum number of records to retrieve. Even better, though I didn't think of it at the time, would be if you could specify an integer abacus or field whose value would set the parameter (undefined = ALL).

It would be a fantastic way to limit the number of items being retrieved. I thought that there might be some performance advantages, too, but Matt talked me out of that perception.

I'm going to answer a slightly different question than I think Wulf ask, guessing that someone may not know that the number of rectangles printed =per page= can be controlled by adjusting the form's page size, such that the page has room to repeat only a certain number of times before going to a new page.

The page size is adjusted in the Template by clicking outside of any fields or rectangles, then scrolling to the lower right where a tiny selection handle can be dragged to the size desired.

Oh and adding to the level of difficulty here, I would need it to only make as many sheets of six as needed where the six people per sheet were ones selected by the person using the account, where most of them don't have anything in common.

Paul provided an example which is posted here:

I demonstrated a label limiting technique here:
