I need to be able to export a View form with both labels and fields in the order they appear on the form. This is a medical History and Physical that I simply print for the patients medical record. Now the Hospital has gone paperless so I need to convert my History and Physical into a RTF text document. If I just Export, the field labels are dumped first, followed by the data fields .... not a recognizable document. ?Any ideas?
Thanks

Like many things Helix, this could be easy, or it could be about impossible (without a lot of duplication etc).

The simplest/easiest case would be if the document didn't need to be an exact duplicate of the paper copy. One could probably script such a thing (a non-trivial, but fairly straightforward, task).

However, if the RTF document does need to look just like the paper copy then you have a fairly large problem. One that there are ways around, but you'd somehow need to duplicate the form layout from Helix. Really, the only valid way to do that is to reproduce it in another program (HTML? Word?), then mail-merge....

Now, there's an idea - open up the tab/return delimited document in Excel, or Appleworks, and MailMerge the data into a word processing document that you've made. Adds another few steps, but depending on how often you need to do this, may save money on having a custom script/application developed.

Only RTF, huh? Sad that they don't take PDF - that exports nicely thanks to PrintToPDF or Acrobat....

There are several forum posters/people familiar with Helix who might be able to write a Helix -> RTF application, if you required it.
