I've previously been running a Helix db on a OS 9 mnachine. I've now pretty much switched over to X. When I started using it under Classic (application 5.1.1) I noticed that creating/editing templates was v ery difficult to impossible. I saw none of the "fine dots" outside the active area, and inside the active area was blank white. Thered seemed to be no effective grid inside the template. Noticed that work had been done on these items for 5.2. I got the the demo to see if it was "back to usual." Certainly was. Then I re-launched 5.1.1 to confirm and low and behold, templates DID have a grid and they DID now have the dots both inside and outside the active area. Am I nuts? FYI, normally I'd update as soon as it was available, but I've been out of work for a while and have to scrimp pennies over several months to raise the 150 bucks...

>> Am I nuts? Yes. :-) Actually, maybe the 2nd time you looked at a differenct template? You can turn the grid off and on, and turn the dots in the active area off and on, with options in the checkmark menu. However, the area outside the active page should always have a pattern in it.
