In order to use client from a remote location I have to open port 10860. How is this done? |

I've never actually done it for Helix client, but I'm assuming the procedure is essentially the same as for other LAN services to which you want to provide access from the "outside". Basically, you need to configure your router or firewall to allow incoming requests on that port by entering that port number and then specifying to which LAN machine those requests should be sent/forwarded. It's sometimes called "port forwarding" and is a feature/setting in your router or firewall software. That's how I've done it for other services anyway. I don't know if there are any special considerations for Helix. --- Steve |
