OK, we've run into a couple of interesting things in our work so far (as evidenced by 5.2's"8.6 and higher' requirement) and have decided that Helix 6 will have to be "9.x and higher.' We don't know exactly which 9.x it will be, but since all 9.x updates are free, we aren't going to concern ourselves over it. If we run across something that requires 9.1 or 9.2 to work easily, that will be our new minimum.

Matt I've come across another developer (Andrew Taylor at MacSpeech) who is having trouble getting support from Apple and Metrowerks for OS9 development. He claims that they have stopped supporting the OS9 environment and the consequences are that it is affecting his ability to get new versions of MacSpeech out the door with feature parity (to OSX). How do you plan to dfeal with this given that Helix 6 will be in development while such support avenues continue to dry up and OSX 10.3 comes out further stretching the marriage?

The answer to that would require giving a little too much confidential information out. Sorry.
