| R6735: Helix 6.1.4 and Background Processing | |
| Category |

| The Problem |
A potentially serious bug has been discovered in version 6.1.4 (134) of the macOS Helix Client & Engine: Processes can fail to work correctly when running in the background. Typically the process ends with Helix crashing at the point where the progress thermometer completes. A more serious problem was also discovered in that a Delete All command would only delete some of the records on the list if Helix was put into the background while the progress thermometer was shown. Helix then crashed when the process completed. |
| Discussion |
This bug is fixed in Helix 6.1.5, which was released on November 30, 2009. This bug would not strike if Helix was kept in the foreground during the operation. |
| Scope |
This bug affects only the macOS version of Helix 6.1.4 Client and Engine. Helix 6.1.3 and earlier, and all Classic versions of Helix products, are not affected by this bug. |
