Intel-native builds of all Helix products require Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. Attempting to run them in OS X 10.4 or earlier results in a crash immediately upon opening a collection (or visiting a Server, in the case of Helix Client).

It was originally believed the Intel-native Helix could run under Mac OS X 10.4, but we have found it impossible to maintain that option.

If you are using an Intel Mac, you can run Helix in PowerPC mode (Rosetta) by opening the Get Info box in the Finder and checking the Always use Rosetta option.

Our recommendation is to upgrade your Intel Macs to OS X 10.5 or later. Mac OS X is available in our web store.
